Retina Foundation of the Southwest New Home in Dallas

Dallas, TX – (May 2013) – The Retina Foundation of the Southwest is in the middle of a $3.5 million dollar Capital Campaign. We purchased a building that has been renovated to be a state of the art eye research institute for our seven laboratories. We began seeing patients in our new research laboratories in January 2013.

The Retina Foundation has raised $2 million dollars in pledges and gifts with two of the seven Laboratories funded. There are five laboratories available with naming opportunities including the Macular Function Lab, the Biochemistry Lab, the Molecular Ophthalmology Lab, the Southwest Eye Registry, and the Visual Disorders Lab that specializes in eye research for children.

We are thrilled to have been selected as a beneficiary of the 2012 Crystal Charity Ball which has funded our Pediatric Vision Evaluation Center. The Pediatric Vision Evaluation Center focuses on research for treatments of developmental eye disorders for infants and children, including special needs children in Dallas. The Retinal Degenerations Laboratory specializes in clinical trials and research studies on new treatments for inherited eye disorders, including retinitis pigmentosa and macular degeneration and is funded by the Rose-Silverthorne Family.
